SNCA overexpression disturbs hippocampal gene expression trajectories in midlife

In standard environmental conditions, SNCA overexpression in TG mice (TGSE) imbalances the hippocampal transcriptome and interferes with gene expression adaptations in midlife so that some cellular processes become accelerated, while others fail to adapt age-adequately in comparison to WT animals (WTSE). Provision of environmental enrichment to TG animals (TGEE) prevents and counter-balances these disturbances so that a near-normal system state can be maintained despite persistent SNCA overexpression.
