Young mice exposed to old blood exhibited a small, albeit insignificant increase in disc cellular senescence, but a significant increase in disc matrix PG imbalance and tissue degeneration. Old mice exposed to young blood showed a significant decrease in disc cellular senescence, but only a modest improvement in disc matrix PG homeostasis and tissue morphology.
