Obacunone protects retinal pigment epithelium cells from ultra-violet radiation-induced oxidative injury

Obacunone protects mouse retina from light-induced damage. Twenty-four hours after the light exposure in mice retina, with or without obacunone intravitreal injection (2.5 mg/kg body weight, 1h pre-treatment), ERG was recorded, quantified amplitudes of a- and b-waves were presented (A, B). Retinal tissues were collected and expression of listed proteins was shown (C); The relative caspase-3 activity was tested as well (D). Data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation (SD, n=5). * p vs. undamaged control mice (“C”). #p vs. “Light damage” only group (no obacunone administration).
