Optimizing future well-being with artificial intelligence: self-organizing maps (SOMs) for the identification of islands of emotional stability

Green – highest well-being, yellow –intermediary state, red – low well-being. (B) We hypothesize that a person’s position in the SOM is not constant and may be described with a Markov process. People may freely roam within the defined sectors, while transitioning between sectors is equivalent to state transitions in a Markov chain. Actions such as therapy (T) may affect transition probabilities, transforming the model into a Markov decision process.
