Plasticity of adipose tissues in response to fasting and refeeding declines with aging in mice

All mice were fasted for 24, 48 and 72 h (F24 h, F48 h and F72 h) respectively, and then fed again for 12, 24, 48 and 72 h (R12 h, R24 h, R48 h and R72 h), respectively. After 72 h of fasting, the body weight and morphology of various adipose tissues (A, B) from the different age groups were evaluated. Weights of adipose tissues (ingWAT, eWAT, mWAT, iBAT) expressed as a percentage of body weight in mice of the three groups (C) were also analyzed.
