Plasticity of adipose tissues in response to fasting and refeeding declines with aging in mice

Figure 2. Change in the body weight and fat mass of mice belonging to the different experimental groups subjected to fasting and refeeding. All mice were fasted for 24, 48 and 72 h (F24 h, F48 h and F72 h) respectively, and then fed again for 12, 24, 48 and 72 h (R12 h, R24 h, R48 h and R72 h), respectively. After 72 h of fasting, the body weight and morphology of various adipose tissues (A, B) from the different age groups were evaluated. Weights of adipose tissues (ingWAT, eWAT, mWAT, iBAT) expressed as a percentage of body weight in mice of the three groups (C) were also analyzed.
