Flow cytometry was used to assess the phagocytic activity by quantifying the number of 1-μm fluorescent yellow-green latex beads (YG beads) engulfed by IMG (AC) and BV-2 (DF) microglia. Cells with or without LPS stimulation (100 ng·mL−1) (A and D), treated with SIRT1 activator CAY (5 μM) (B and E), or pretreated with CAY for 30 min before 24-h LPS stimulation (C and F), were incubated with YG beads for 1 h at 37°C.
