Figure 5. Oil red O staining of the whole aortic area. (A) Oil red O staining of the whole aortic area; (B) represents the percentage of measured lesion area. Oil red O staining to evaluate the severity of the lesions and quantify the atherosclerotic burden; the surface area of the oil red O-positive lesions on the surface of whole aorta was measured. Control group mice were fed with ordinary chow, while mice of the model group, the low-dose TGLQ-prescription (LTGLQ) group and the high-dose TGLQ prescription (HTGLQ) group were intragastrically injected with high-fat emulsion and stimulated with chronic stress. LTGLQ and HTGLQ group mice were intragastrically injected with 8.775g/kg and 35.1g/kg TGLQ prescription daily respectively. #, ##, and ### represent P < 0.05, P < 0.01, and P < 0.001 respectively, in comparison with the control group. *, **, and *** represent P < 0.05, P < 0.01, and P < 0.001 respectively, in comparison with the model group. % represents P < 0.05, in comparison with the LTGLQ group.
