(A) Serial dilutions of WT and eIF2α.S52A cells growing in regular YES medium containing different sub-lethal concentrations of cycloheximide (CHX) or anisomycin (ANS) at the exponential phase (Control) or six days after reaching stationary phase, were plated onto YES agar plates and incubated at 30° C for 2-3 days. (B) Effect of ANS during the exponential growth phase. ANS (final concentration of 150 μM) was added to eIF2α.S52A cell cultures at the indicated time points during exponential growth. Serial dilutions of cells were plated as described in (A) and observed after six days of growth.
