In the heart tissue, a strong immunostaining was visible in the smooth muscle layer of both arterioles and venules from the parenchyma of treated animals as compared to controls (A vs B). In the liver, LC3B immunostaining showed a diffuse granular pattern in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes that was more intense in treated animals as compared to controls (C vs D).
