Experimental layout. Lung fibroblasts from rat, rabbit, dog, pig and Cynomolgus monkey were transduced with either pLOC-empty or with pLOC-hTERT. Primary lung human fibroblasts and BJ fibroblasts were also transduced as positive controls. Infected cells were selected on Blasticidin-containing media. Cells were then successively passaged, and samples were taken 10, 40, and 80 days post-infection for further analysis.
